Green Pillow
Oil on canvas, 40 × 30 cm
Signed on the back, unframed
Green Pillow was inspired by a blurry phone photo of my sister lying on a green pillow during a video call. The deep green of the pillow reflected in her otherwise brown eyes, shifting their color in a way that stayed with me. It’s part of my ongoing exploration of planar perspectival separation in the human face and building form through planes rather than outlines or line work.
Brown Pillow
Oil on canvas, 40 × 30 cm
Signed on the back, unframed
Brown Pillow was inspired by the painting Green Pillow and the playful idea that if a green pillow could appear out of nowhere, then a brown pillow can too. Sometimes, serendipity and emergence are all we need.
Thoughtful
Oil on canvas, 30 × 40 cm
Signed on the back, unframed
Thoughtful reflects an introspective energy. Cool blues and yellows are wrapped around a face in transition, suggesting contemplation, analysis, and the quiet interior world we rarely expose with its loops and detours.
This piece can be paired with Thoughtless as a diptych.
Thoughtless
Sold out
Oil on canvas, 30 x 40 cm
Signed on the back, unframed
Thoughtless is a portrait suspended between emotional states. Warm oranges and violets twist into a face that feels both exposed and protective, as if caught mid-emotion before meaning or interpretation. The shifting colors and planes suggest a moment without narrative.
This piece can be paired with Thoughtful as a diptych.
When Life Gives You Lemons
Acrylic on canvas, 50 × 50 cm
Signed on the back, unframed (2025)
When Life Gives You Lemons began its life as a spray-painted street mural on a wall in NDSM, Amsterdam. Later recreated on canvas in acrylics, this piece carries the same raw energy of its mural origins, now translated into a more intimate artwork.
Bold colors, distorted features, and fluid shapes come together to create a figure that is both humorous and dead serious.
